School of Dental Sciences hosts members of UoN Council

The School of Dental Sciences (SDS) played host to the members of the University of Nairobi Council on 26th March, 2019.

The Council members, led by the Chairperson Prof. Julia Ojiambo were welcomed by Dean, Dr. Regina Mutave together with Chairmen of Departments of the School, staff  and student leaders.

Prof. Ojiambo, who is an alumnus of the college, planted a tree at the college’s ground.

CHS Principal, Prof. Machoki made a brief college presentation highlighting on the history of the college, what it constitutes, academic programs offered, research activities and projects, achievements, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

There Council members engaged staff members and student leaders during the questions and answers session.

Prof. Ojiambo appreciated the staff for their commitment geared towards healthcare provision in Kenya.

“I appreciate what you have been doing over those years and what you have done for this nation in regards to health,” Prof. Ojiambo said.

She assured student leaders that the Council knows there is an issue about the accommodation for students and that will be worked on.

Prof. Ojiambo also promised to help the college achieve the dream of building a teaching hospital.

“The Council will work for that interest with everything that is at our disposal to achieve this. Thanks for welcoming us here. Within the time we have we want to leave the UoN brand brighter than we found it,” Prof. Ojiambo said adding that members should be involved more in income generating activities and proceeds should be used for research and teaching.
