Description Oral and maxillofacial radiology is that branch and specialty of dentistry concerned with the production and interpretation of radiographic images, including CT and MRI scans that are used for the diagnosis and management of diseases, disorders and conditions of the mouth, face and jaws. An oral and maxillofacial radiologist is a dentist who studies and interprets radiographic images for conditions affecting the head, neck, face and jaws. To become an OMR, a dentist must complete a postgraduate degree program. This training includes thorough knowledge on techniques and interpretation of maxillofacial CT, CBCT, MRI, ultrasound and other pertinent modalities
